Today was all about getting to know people and places. After being welcomed by the headmaster Herr Weishaupt, the visitors and their hosts set off on a town trail of the city centre with its Christmas Market. They were asked to find out details of different places, which gave even the Mallinckrodt pupils food for thought. The Scottish pupils were particularly impressed by the gigantic Christmas tree and the variety of food snacks available at the market.
In the afternoon there were joint activities to break the ice: games with Herr Koch followed by workshops on the Ruhr area and football. To finish off the afternoon a huge choice of cakes with coffee or other drinks introduced the Scottish guests to a traditional way of celebrating an important anniversary.

Der Donnerstag (26.11.2015) stand ganz im Zeichen des Kennenlernens. Nach der Begrüßung durch Schulleiter Christoph Weishaupt erkundeten Gäste und Gastgeber zunächst die Dortmunder City und den Weihnachtsmarkt auf einer Stadtrallye. Dabei galt es Fragen zu lösen, die auch für die Mallinckrodt-Schüler nicht immer einfach waren. Besonders beeindruckt waren die schottischen Schüler von dem gigantischen Weihnachtsbaum und der kulinarischen Vielfalt des Weihnachtsmarkts.
Am Nachmittag standen dann Kennenlernspiele mit Herrn Koch und Workshops zum Thema Ruhrgebiet und Fußball mit den ReferendarInnen Frau Epping, Frau Frigo und Herrn Schröder auf dem Programm, bevor ein typisch deutsches Kaffeetrinken mit vielen leckeren Kuchen und Torten den Tag abrundete.
